History

The Gawlicki Family Foundation, was established in 2012 – a project over twenty years in the making.

In 1990, wife-and-husband duo, Mary and Ted Gawlicki teamed up to found Corporate Translations Inc. (CTi) – a market leader in translations for the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. After 26 years growing CTi into a $36 million international business, the Gawlickis sold the company in 2015 – designating a significant portion of the funds from the sale to support the foundation.

Along their quarter-century journey traversing the worlds of entrepreneurship, healthcare, education, and philanthropy, Mary and Ted experienced the significant impact that private dollars have on moving the world forward.

This holistic worldview, combined with their experience growing an innovative idea into an industry-leading business, proved to be the perfect recipe for the Gawlickis to drive change in their community.

The foundation offers grants to Greater Hartford based non-profits committed to transformative change in three focus areas: education, pulmonary health, and municipal and economic development.
